Whether you are just getting started or already enrolled in COOP 1101, submitting your application helps us assess your eligibility and support you through the next steps. Applying early also means we can send you important updates and reminders to help you stay on track.

You do not need to wait. You can apply before or during COOP 1101.

Who Should Submit a Co-op Application?

You should apply if: 

✅ You plan to complete a Co-op work term as part of your program

✅ You are in a program with a Co-op option 

✅  You want to start the process early, even if you have not taken COOP 1101 yet

✅  You are currently enrolled in COOP 1101 and want to be considered to continue in the Co-op program 

NOTE: If you are enrolled in COOP 1101 and submitting a Co-op application as part of the Co-op requirements, make sure to do so by the Co-op Requirements Deadline listed on the Dates & Deadlines page.

Applying now helps us review your eligibility and guide you through the Co-op program requirements. It also connects you with the Co-op team for updates and support. Please note that completing COOP 1101 alone does not grant access to Co-op job postings. You must meet all program requirements and be approved to continue.

Submit Your Co-op Application

  1. Go to Career Connection and log in using your KPU student email and password. Update your student profile (first-time users only).
  2. Click on the Co-operative Education tab or go to your profile and click My Experiential Learning.

  1. Complete the Co-op Application Form. Be sure your academic details are up to date.
  2. Click Submit Application (Note: You won’t receive a confirmation email. If your form is locked, it means your application was submitted.)

Plan Ahead:

  • If you're targeting a specific work term term (e.g. Fall 2026), we recommend submitting your application and completing COOP 1101 at least 1 to 2 semesters in advance.
  • International students should plan even earlier (2 -3 semesters) to allow time for Co-op work permit processing.

Our team reviews your student record and application within 2 weeks to determine your eligibility. You’ll receive one of the following notifications and guidance on your next steps:

Application Reviewed and Eligible to Move Forward

What to do:

  • Register for COOP 1101. During the course, the Co-op team will Contact you with next steps to complete the requirements listed on the COOP 1101 page to continue in the program.

Important: You are not yet in the Co-op program. You'll be admitted after completing COOP 1101 and all requirements during the course.

Not Approved

Your application may be declined if:

  • You are missing key requirements to join Co-op (e.g. program declaration, GPA, credit limits).
  • Your program does not offer a Co-op option.

What You Can Do:

  • Reapply once you meet your program's entrance requirements.
  • If you later switch into an eligible Co-op program after completing COOP 1101, you may be able to continue from where you left off.
  • You can still take COOP 1101 even if your Co-op application hasn't been approved.
