Admission Requirements
Once you have applied, there are two steps to becoming a student at KPU:
1. Qualify under one of our applicant categories:
- High School: A graduate of a BC secondary school or an equivalent school system. (Note: Proof of June graduation must be received in order to be eligible for Fall admission. High school students graduating in August are considered for Spring admission. High school students graduating in January are considered for Summer admission.)
- Transfer: An applicant who has successfully completed 9 or more credits above the preparatory level from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Mature: An applicant who will be 19 years of age or older on the first day of the term of admission.
- Indigenous: An Indigenous applicant who wishes to be considered for admission by the Indigenous Admissions Committee on an individual basis.

2. Satisfy the stated Admission Requirements:
- Open intakes: An intake where a limit has not been set on the number of students admitted per application cycle.
- Limited intakes: An intake for which a limit has been set on the number of students admitted per application cycle.
Applicants to undergraduate open intake areas of study are subject to Faculty admission requirements.

English Proficiency Requirements
English is the primary language of study at KPU; therefore, all applicants must be able to demonstrate the appropriate level of English language proficiency for their graduate, undergraduate, vocational or preparatory area of study.
UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
All applicants to undergraduate/graduate studies must satisfy KPU's Undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement through an acceptable High school course, undergraduate course, KPU course, or testing option. For a list of equivalencies, refer to the university calendar.
Applicants who are unable to satisfy undergraduate admission requirements may be eligible for admission to the Pathway to Undergraduate Studies.
VOCATIONAL ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
